Year 3 Learning

Academic Year 24/25

Science Day of Animal Adaptations

On Science Day, Year 3 learnt about adaptations in response to habitats, and considered what adaptations a known animal might have in response to a new habitat. We also made healthy fruit smoothies, which the children blended by cycling an adapted exercise bike!

T

World Book Day

On Friday, children's author Keith Hatton visited Nightingale Class and ran a writing workshop! They designed a robot, then named and labelled it before starting a story about it.  "As the doors of the time machine slid open, they couldn't believe their eyes..."

Cave paintings

These are some pictures from Class 3.1 making their own cave paintings! We turned our classroom into a dark cave, lit only with fairy lights and listened to tribal music while we painted hunting scenes, animals and handprints!

Stone Age

The children are learning about a Stone Age site in the north of Scotland called Skara Brae. Here they are conducting a television interview with a local! The children took the roles of locals, reporters and crew.

History

This half term, the children in Year 3 started off back in Ancient Greece with an amazing experience day run by History off the Page!
