Art – Growth Mindset
February
Year 6 enjoyed a mindful afternoon where we created some art based on our chats about developing a growth mindset. We first created a watercolour background and allowed that to dry. Then we used the 7 Habits metaphor of thinking of ourselves as a growing tree and filled our roots (using charcoal) with foundational words that we thought were important to cultivate.
Having a growth mindset means we believe our intelligence and abilities can be improved with effort and the right strategies. A willingness to confront challenges, a passion for learning, and viewing failure as a springboard for growth are all characteristics associated with a growth mindset.
