Spring Term 2020
Children in nursery have had a busy half term with learning centred on a number of themes. We began by learning about rainbows and enjoyed painting, making crepe paper rainbows, sharing information books about weather and using Purple Mash to decorate rainbows on the ipads. Children then enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year celebrations. They played maths games, made red and gold banners, danced a dragon dance, looked at and tried Chinese writing and had a turn to eat noodles with chopsticks. Our Talk for writing story has been The Train Ride by June Crebbin. Children have really enjoyed learning around the theme of trains. They have painted large boxes to make their own train, designed large and small trains with shapes, sang train songs, written a train ticket, enjoyed role play around trains and stations, made their own sandwich lunch and written their own Nursery stories using the structure of the Train Ride. We were delighted to end our half term with a visit from Mr Dama who came to talk about his work.
